Alpine Works Ltd was contracted by Highways England on behalf of AECOM to execute the lighting and lighting controls upgrade project at the Godstone SERCC (Security and Emergency Response Command Centre) facility. The project involved the complete replacement of the existing lighting system and associated lighting controls.

The Godstone SERCC facility remained fully operational throughout the project, requiring Alpine Works to coordinate closely with Highways England to ensure minimal disruption to the facility’s critical functions.

A key aspect of the project was the installation of Thorlux Smart Scan technology, which enabled the building to maximize its energy savings. The Thorlux system uses advanced sensors and controls to automatically adjust lighting levels based on occupancy and daylight availability, ensuring that energy is only used when and where it is needed. This innovative solution helped Highways England achieve their sustainability goals for the SERCC facility.

The project demonstrates Alpine Works’ expertise in managing complex projects in sensitive environments, while prioritising safety, and incorporate cutting-edge technology to drive energy efficiency and sustainability.
