London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – Phase 2 Refurbishment Works

Scope of project
Alpine Works, along with our partners T&B Contractors LTD & supply chain partners completed phase 2 of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine building refurbishment programme.
The work consisted of the installation of 4 new chillers, including primary chilled pumps and pipework, new boiler room fit out including 5 new calorifiers and 12 new boiler modules with associated pumps and pipework, new fume cupboard extract, supply & extract ventilation systems, new electrical essential and non-essential busbar and mains distribution systems, refurbishment of the main switchboards and complete MEP fit out of the 2nd floor area laboratories, teaching spaces & WC’s.
In addition new specialist systems were also installed and upgraded across the site including fire alarm, security, access control & CCTV, structured wiring, automated lighting controls, emergency lighting self-test and remote monitoring, LV metering, lightening protection and BMS systems
This was a particularly demanding and complex project which included multiple planned building shutdowns and which was delivered while ensuring minimal disruption was caused to the critical work undertaken by this world leading research organisation
