University College London Hospital-PET Scanner Replacement

Scope of project
Alpine Works was instructed to undertake the complete electrical installation of the PET CT Scanner replacement at University College London Hospital. The project comprised of the alterations, modifications and additions to the electrical services. The scope of works included the installation of power outlets, containment and IPS supplies to various items of medical, mechanical and auxiliary equipment; The installation of lighting and modification of the existing modular wiring systems and emergency lighting; Modifications and upgrades to the existing fire alarm to also include additions to the security systems, video intercom/access control, CCTV and nurse call systems.
Challenges
The installation and commissioning of highly complexed hospital equipment is a bespoke operation where several specialists and consultants will be involved. For this project you will be dealing with the supplier of the scanner, the electrical/mechanical consultant and the client. The installation plan will be designed towards the exacting requirements of the client and may change several times.
