The East Convenience Store project, located at 1 Pool Street, forms part of the Students Union Shop East at University College London (UCL). This project involved a comprehensive refurbishment and fit-out of the space, transforming it into a modern and functional retail environment for students.

The scope of the project included a full design package covering both the electrical and mechanical services, as well as extensive builders and fabric work to create the necessary internal layout.

Key components of the project included the installation of advanced lighting systems with daylight-saving controls, emergency lighting, electrical distribution boards, and small power systems. The security system, including cameras for surveillance, was also integrated into the design to ensure safety and protection of the premises.

Additionally, the project involved the installation of a fire alarm system, data cabling, and all essential domestic services like plumbing and drainage. The space was equipped with air conditioning for temperature regulation and connected to a Building Management System (BMS) to allow for integrated control of the store’s mechanical and electrical systems.

The East Convenience Store provides a safe, secure, and efficient environment, aligning with the needs of students and creating a vibrant and functional retail space within the Students Union.
